Ready To Know More About Pizza?

Pizza is truly a universal food that almost everyone enjoys. Not all pizza is created equal though. Some slices are a nutritious addition to your diet while others are nutritional nightmares. Knowing the difference between a healthy piece of pizza and an unhealthy one will let you enjoy this much-loved food more often and guilt-free.

I remember last year on December was my first time i ate pizza during a birthday party of a close friend. It was so sweet that i wouldn't stop eating it. This is the first time i realized why every person talks about buying pizza every Tuesday where by they call it terrific Tuesday. This is because you buy one pizza and you get one free. After eating it for the first time it became a tradition that every Tuesday i took my friends so that we could eat it together. I just stopped eating it frequently when i realized it has some side effects.

Side Effects Of Consuming Pizza:
  • Over eating pizzas may raise your blood cholesterol levels and make you prone to heart diseases.
  • The saturated fats in the main crust of pizzas may block your arteries and cause serious problems like myocardial infarction (heart attack).
  • The high calorie content of the pizzas may contribute to your weight gain and make you obese.
  • The carbohydrates of the pizzas have a very high glycemic index, which is capable of causing a reasonable effect on your blood glucose levels.
  • Being high in salt content pizzas may also raise your blood pressure levels.
  • Other than pizza having side effects it has some health benefits:
If you add vegetables to your pizza, you can cross off a few more food groups. Meat gives you protein, with chicken being the healthiest choice. Other sources of nutrients in pizza include cheese, which contains calcium, protein and vitamin A. Another source of nutrients in pizza is the dough, which contains some antioxidants due to the chemical reactions of the yeast.
